Meet the Founder

Heather Karls Chaniott
Heather Chaniott is a writer, speaker, strategist, and Christian organizational leader with more than two decades of leadership experience.
Before founding The Bible With Fresh Eyes, Heather spent 15 years with Missions Development International, including serving as CEO, working alongside more than 450 Christian leaders serving around the world. Over those years, one of the questions that increasingly captured her attention was surprisingly simple: How much of what we think we know about Scripture comes from Scripture itself?
That question led to years of research into biblical texts, history, language, theology, church tradition, and particularly the stories of women whose biblical identities often look remarkably different when separated from centuries of cultural interpretation.
Today, Heather writes, teaches, speaks, and creates resources designed to help others make those discoveries for themselves. She is currently writing Shameful Remarkable Women in Scripture and developing Christian Guilt Is an Oxymoron. She also teaches on sustainable Christian leadership and burnout prevention and facilitates communities for women leading Christian organizations.
But across all of that work, the invitation remains the same: Bring your Bible. Bring your questions. Bring your curiosity. You don't have to abandon tradition to examine it. You don't have to be a theologian to ask good questions. And you don't have to be afraid of what you'll find when you look closely at Scripture. The stories haven't changed. Maybe it's time to look again.
